ABC/Randy HolmesAfter months of various hints and teasers, the new Thirty Seconds to Mars single has finally arrived. Titled “Walk on Water,” the track is now available on digital outlets.
You can also watch the lyric video for “Walk on Water” featuring footage from Thirty Seconds to Mars’ A Day in the Life of America project, which asked fans across the country to film their experience on the Fourth of July.
In a statement, frontman Jared Leto calls “Walk on Water” a “song for all of us.”
“It’s a song about freedom, about persistence, about change and about fighting for what you believe in,” says Leto. “It is a call to arms but also full of all the optimism and hope that is such an integral part of the American Dream.”
“Walk on Water” is the first preview of the forthcoming fifth Thirty Seconds to Mars album, the follow-up to 2013’s Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams. Leto and company will perform the single on this weekend’s MTV Video Music Awards, airing Sunday, August 27. The track will also be used to soundtrack the upcoming college football season on ESPN.
