“Outrage! Is Now”: Death from Above announces new album, single & tour

Warner Bros. Records/Last Gang RecordsDeath from Above has revealed the details of their next album. The third studio effort from the Canadian duo, who’ve dropped the “1979” from their name, is titled Outrage! Is Now, and it’ll be released September 8.

Outrage! Is Now, which sports a Panic! at the Disco-style exclamation point, features the previously released single, “Freeze Me.” Your second preview of the album comes in the form of “Never Swim Alone,” which is available on digital platforms. You can also watch the “Never Swim Alone” video, directed by vocalist/drummer Sebastien Grainger, now on YouTube.

Outrage! Is Now is meant to be felt on both a visceral and emotional level,” says Grainger in a statement. “We tried to make something that excites and surprises. Our journey is that of enlightenment and seeking truth. There’s enough fiction and meaningless distractions in the world to make you totally shut off. We hope this record turns you on.”

Death from Above will embark on a North American headlining tour this fall in support of Outrage! Is Now. The outing kicks off October 20 in Montreal, and will travel through the U.S. before returning to Canada and wrapping up with a hometown show in Toronto December 1. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, August 18 at 10 a.m. local time via DeathfromAbove1979.com.

Prior to the headlining dates, Death from Above will play Riot Fest in Chicago September 15.
