ABC/Randy HolmesWhen Garbage released their new single “No Horses” last month, frontwoman Shirley Manson described the track as a “dream-filled anxiety dream.” That’s basically the premise of the the song’s new video, which is streaming now on YouTube.
The clip finds Manson channeling The Handmaid’s Tale while wearing a red hood and cape, intercut with frantic footage of riots, protests and fighter jets.
“‘No Horses’ made me realize that I’m not going insane, these really are f***** up times,” says the video’s director, Scott Stuckey. “The lyrics are powerful so the challenge was to add something visually that wouldn’t ruin the individual’s interpretation.”
Garbage is currently on a co-headlining tour with Blondie.
