Nine Inch Nails teases “important” “Add Violence” artwork

The Null CorporationIt seems that everything Trent Reznor does has some mysterious, secret “other” meaning, and it looks the artwork for the upcoming Nine Inch Nails EP Add Violence will continue that trend.

Reznor has shared the back cover art for Add Violence, accompanied by the following cryptic warning: “Remember when records had back covers? No? Maybe this one is important.”

Like the EP’s front cover, the back artwork features a variety of button and knobs on a weathered recording console marked with words like “satisfaction,” “morale,” “submission” and “disorder.” Additionally, there are a few references to the 2007 Nine Inch Nails concept album Year Zero, including the year 2022, the year in which the dystopian Year Zero takes place.

Add Violence will be released July 21.
