ABC/Randy HolmesChris Cornell will posthumously appear on an album titled Johnny Cash Forever Words: The Music, a project pairing songwriters with poems written by the country legend and setting them to music.
Country artist Jamey Johnson first revealed news of the album, which is headed up by Cash’s son, John Carter Cash. “He’s got Chris Cornell having finished one of these songs and then recorded it,” Johnson told the blog Kentucky Country Music. “I’m excited for it to come out.”
John Carter Cash confirmed the project to Rolling Stone.
Johnny Cash previously recorded a cover of Soundgarden‘s “Rusty Cage” for his 1996 album, Unchained.
