Nickelback “definitely cranked it up” on “aggression”-filled new album, “Feed the Machine”

ABC/Tim OgierNickelback‘s new album Feed the Machine arrives on Friday. As you may have figured out from the record’s title track — also its lead single — Canadian rockers are taking a heavier direction with the record.

Speaking to ABC Radio, frontman Chad Kroeger says that Feed the Machine has “a little bit more aggression” than the Canadian band’s previous albums.

“We try to make sure that there’s everything for every one,” says Kroeger. “But we definitely cranked it up on this one.”

“There’s a lot more heavy guitars,” he adds. “And lots of good, crunchy screaming and fun stuff.”

Nickelback will kick off a North American tour in support of Feed the Machine June 23 in Noblesville, Indiana. If you’re taking a road trip to see any of the shows, Kroeger suggests you use Feed the Machine as your soundtrack.

“There’s gonna be a lot of steering-wheel drums played to [Feed the Machine] in your vehicle,” Kroeger says.
