Soundgarden, Audioslave, Temple of the Dog social media accounts honor Chris Cornell

ABC/Randy HolmesSoundgarden has yet to make an official public statement regarding the death of Chris Cornell, but they’ve updated their social media pages to reflect their frontman’s passing.

On both their Facebook and Twitter, Soundgarden has changed their cover photo to a simple black box. Additionally, both accounts have changed their profile pictures to a black-and-white photo of Cornell.

The Audioslave and Temple of the Dog Facebook accounts have followed Soundgarden’s lead, uploading the same black box and photo of Cornell to their pages. Cornell’s own social media accounts have done the same.

Cornell died last week at age 52, officially of suicide by hanging. However, his widow Vicky has suggested that prescription anti-anxiety medication may have contributed to his death. A private funeral will be held this Friday in Los Angeles.
