Korn cancels tour date while Jonathan Davis rests “thrashed” vocal cords

Mauricio Santana/Getty ImagesKorn has cancelled their upcoming festival date in St. Louis on Saturday as frontman Jonathan Davis is on “doctor’s orders to rest his vocal cords.”

“We’re sorry we can’t be there with you and for you, and appreciate your understanding,” Korn writes in a Facebook post.

Davis has also posted a video to demonstrate that his voice is, in his words, “thrashed.” “I need to rest up and get my voice back in good singing shape,” he says, adding that he hopes he’ll be ready in time for Korn’s headlining set at Rock on the Range on May 20.

Last month, Korn cancelled the majority of their May tour dates due to “unforeseen circumstance.” It’s unclear if those cancellations were also related to Davis’ ailing vocal cords. The band last performed last weekend at the Carolina Rebellion festival.
